I'm over there, at the back
Everyone else is moaning - why should I be any different? Please don't get me wrong, I actually like change (= exciting!) but it's change that has been carried out badly (and with no thought to user requirements it seems) that I don't like.
Well first impressions of the new 20six? They have taken all the good community stuff and trashed it. The stuff that made the site workable, like coherent navigation, well that's gone too.
What's it like? Well it's all white, with random bits of German text. No sensible (like being applied consistently throughout) way to navigate ones own blog, others blogs or indeed the site itself. That is a big minus. Oh and I get logged out constantly.
It looks and feels unprofessional.
No disrespect to our Pete but, WHAT HAVE THE IT DEPARTMENT BEEN DOING IN GERMANY DURING THE SYSTEM SWITCH OVER DELAY (four months wasn't it?) Not working on this site that's for sure.
Finding other blogs is going to be difficult. Keeping track of people you like, what they have written, who has commented on it and what comments were written after yours - impossible.
So I am VERY glad I have my
wordpress
blog which is lovely to look at and has all my 20six archives (including who made which comment on an old entry - such a simple thing 20Six really.) I shall be continuing to use that thanks very much. Feel free to come over.
I've deleted all my images and two years of entries over here. I shall keep my login in case any friends have 20six reader only blogs.
So peeps, as my Bloglines is now tits up and no entries are appearing there due to 20Six changing *everything* can people please comment with their new web address or email me or something so I can see you all?

So every single comment ever made on my blog prior to the handover is now going to be confusingly anonymous? Crap.
My blog has survived the handover, but it's full of broken images and private entries suddenly made public. So it'll be a long while before it's all sorted out.
Until then, I'm going to start a new blog. Can anyone suggest a good place to go?
And yes, where were you on Saturday? Very disappointing. And Kate, great to see you; albeit without getting to talk to you. Hope you enjoyed the Human League.

Chintzy - I may well stick around when I've finally got my blog all sorted out, but I want to write guff *now* and I don't want the world to see my old entries, festooned private and broken imaged as they are. Is there a way of making all my old entries private but the new one public?

NM, you do have to do it entry by entry, I'm afraid. What you could do, maybe, is start up a new blog here to write stuff now, while you work on deactivating your private entries on the old blog. Just an idea.I'm staying here. I rather like it, actually, although I'm getting pretty sick of everyone's kneejerk reactions. 24 hours of using it and it's easy. Yes, the comment tracking has gone, but you won't get that anywhere else either *shrugs*. I think people should give it a chance here - it's exciting!

Yep comment tracking was good Floaty. We liked that. Bubb actually is thinking of a project to get a comment tracking system working for Wordpress. But then he is a genius.
I like change too *really* but what we have been given doesn't seem to have been worked upon by the guys in Germany at all. It looks shabby. I mean the site as a whole not individual blogs here - some blogs, yours included, look splendid.
Excuse if I came across as Miss Negative in my post. I'm sick. And I am a grumpy bitch when I am sick.

Katja - I wasn't moaning, I'm just being clueless. My reaction to the whole thing is the same reaction I have to most things - I find it all pretty amusing. But it is going to be a lot of work to get it off the ground - I have three blogs on here, and they've all been going for a long long time, and they're all a mish-mash of the public and the private. The New Malden one is the most important one, obviously, and as for layout and stuff, I just want it red and white, like before, with a nice picture of New Malden on the left, will some silly comment like 'I live in New Malden' running across the top. I'm fairly easy to please.
I've just found my 'blogger' blog, which I must have set up a few days before I started at 20six. It features a very short first entry, and a half-finished second one. I'm going to finish it now, in the same style. Only two and a half years out of date! Is that some kind of new record?
